Hi Tina
This room looks so depressing. I think if I hadn't had some sort of a crisis before I entered it, I'd have one by the time I left!
You can't fail to impove it for people.
Good luck

Wow, that's beautiful! I'm a henna artist/doula in Denver and I just tried my hand at a belly cast (for a friend of mine). The center circle design with the Jamaican doctor birds I actually tattooed on her belly in henna, then she wanted me to decorate her belly cast as well.

I did the same design with a bit more embellishment, partly because I love it and partly because I couldn't stop myself! What do you think from an artist's point of view? How much would you charge for the piece? (I spent 9 hours and $35 in materials)

Check it out here:

Sonya,

The classes I teach are much smaller, usually between 8-15 kids and it's a drawing/coloring class so not so much organizing or mess (or stress). I teach 2 different age groups, one is 5&6 year olds, the other is 7-12. I'm able to help more kids one-on-one and you get to know them and their personalities better.

Tina,

Thanks for having a look at my blog & for being so encouraging. It's good to get some feedback to know if what you are aiming at is actually working(at least for some people!)
As for teaching, I have 18 contact hours which basically means relating to 200 kids a week. They are aged between 8 & 12 & the class size is between 25-28.I enjoy teaching art in general , although in practise it can be very stressfull, mostly because of sheer numbers&trying to help everyone on an individual level & meanwhile dealing with conflicts that arise whilst wanting them to use as many interesting materials as possible (which equals lots of organising & lots of mess , though in general they do tidy up pretty well).
It's rewarding on the other hand when you see their results & the fact that they enjoy it so much.

Sonya,

Hi. Thank you so much for your kind words. I just left a comment over on your blog. Your landscapes have such a tranquil feel, especially the cliffs and shore. Great work.

I'd love to live in the country. I'm really not a city girl but that's where I've landed. I grew up in a small town surrounded by hills in Berkshire County, Massachusettes. It's certainly nothing like Phoenix, AZ. We'll see what the future brings.

I also teach an after school art class (drawing) a few times a week. Do you teach full time? I enjoy working with kids and find their innocence and eagerness to learn so refreshing. If I teach after having a hard day, they take my stress away. Ya just gotta love it.

Tina
Hi again! I live in the French Basque country (Pays Basque)right on the border with Spain where it is also the Basque Country/Euskadi/Pais Vasco.I cross the border every day as i teach art in a school in San Sebastian. You would probably find it quite different here from your memories of Italy & mediterranean architecture. It's very green, hilly and the houses are all white. Some visitors from the UK have said they look like Swiss houses, though I think that's mostly just a general mountain style.

If you are interested i have a few landscape paintings of the area on my blog which is sonyartchasey.wordpress.com Any advice/opinions welcome if you have a moment as I'm just starting out .

I'm interested that you have only recently been painting canvases (apart from interior design,)- as they look pretty acomplished. Definitely continue with it!

Sonya,

Where abouts in France do you live? I envy you. I love French and Italian architecture and design. I visited France, Italy, and Switzerland back in high school almost 20 years ago and I would love to go back and visit someday. You've got me reminiscing.
